Peekaboo Penguin

Good Afternoon Crafty Friends and Followers

I would like to welcome my new followers and thank my friends and followers for all your lovely comments since I started my blog.

Well I am off home in an hour or so and I hope the journey is a lot better than last weeks with all the wind.

Today's card is made using Heather Valentin's Peekaboo Penguin.  This was the first digi I used of Heather's last year and I brought him out again to play.

I have made an easel card from a 6 x 6 pearlescent silver card.
I have used Core'dinations blue card and layered paper with snowflakes from my stash.  I have inked the paper with Adirondak Cloudy Blue.  I then used Spellbinder Fleur De Lis die with Holographic Silver card and took the centre out and left the frame.
I printed the image onto Stampography card and then cut out with Spellbinder Fleur De Lis die.
I used Copic pens and coloured the penguin in.  I used PanPastel in Blue around the penguin.
To finish off I punched out snowflakes with blue mirri card and added a sentiment
The base of the card I have layered the same paper and wrapped around blue lace which I have threaded white ribbon and tied a bow.

Good Evening Crafty Friends and Followers

Whew what a busy day today, got lots of DT sorted but unfortunately I can't show you yet, all will be revealed in December.

Today's card is another Christmas card that I made using Elisabeth Bell's Snow Gear Snow Baby.  I do love this particular design and have used her before.

6 x 6 white base card scored to make an easel card
Core'dinations So Mod purple card which I have added faux stitching around the edges with black pen.
I have used Spellbinder die to cut out pale lilac snowflake paper from my stash
Stamped Snow Baby onto Stampography card and coloured with Copic's I have added glitter to the hood and fur on the bottom of her coat.  Scored around the edges with my scissors and then distressed with Dew Drops Brilliance Orchid ink.  To finish off the topper I have again added faux stitching with a black pen.
To finish off I have punched out snowflakes with my Martha Stewart punch and dotted them down the side.  Added a double bow and pearl gems on the corners.
The base of the card I have matted a piece of the snowflake paper and added a sentiment as the stopper.

Gay Paris

Good Morning Crafty Friends and Followers

Well you definitely need your woolies today it is flippin freezing out there today.  Not that I have been out mind!  Yesterday was a mad day getting all the Christmas cleaning done as both hubby and I were at home and it was the only time we had free to get it done.  I put the winter duvet on yesterday how was that for good timing?  It is fatal though as I just didn't want to get out of bed!

Now todays card is made so that I could enter it into one of my crafy friends challenge blog  Craftymess Challenge Blog, there are only 4 entries so far please take part if you can.  I do hope some of you will take part in this challenge as there are only a few entries to date.  The theme is "Choose a Country"  I picked Paris as you will no doubt have guessed from the title of my blog post.

Kraft card as the base card which I have punched with X-cut corner punch
Black pearlescent card
Next layer is double sided sticky paper which I have added micro beads for texture
Postcard is from my stash which I have distressed with PanPastels Burnt Sienna and Orange Shade
The Topper and stamps are from a sheet of Graphic 45, Glimpse of Paris
Using a pair of scissors I have scored around the postcard and added Adirondak Expresso ink.
I have also added Fran-tage down the right hand side and along the bottom.  Before layering the postcard down I have added an eiffel tower charm.
The topper has been heat embossed with clear embossing powder and then scored with scissors around the edges.  I then manipulated the topper so the embossing cracked to age it.
To finish off I added the penny farthing which I bought from Crafty Emblies

This is a close up of the topper.

Good Evening Crafty Friends and Followers

Today I am in Leeds until Thursday afternoon.  The journey was quite good this morning and it was lovely to see night turn to morning.  A lot of red sky about but it was lovely.  Got stuck in traffic from Junction 24 but that always happens.

Today it is my day for posting a card using an image from Scrapbook Stamp Society.  I have used Heather Valentin's Susie Lou Christmas Ornament Ragamuffin.  I have steered away from traditional colours for this as she just wanted to be coloured in pinks.  You can purchase this adorable image here.

Core'dinations So Mod pink card cut using Spellbinder Blossom 4 die

Christmas Banners for Special Needs Kids Blog Hop

Good Morning Crafty Friends and Followers

It is that time of the year again where a group of talented crafters get together to participate in the Blog Hop Christmas Banners for Special Needs Kids.  We all make a banner and send it off to be displayed in hospitals for Children in the USA.

This is my second year of taking part and WOW we have had to extend our hop from 2 to 3 days as there were so many crafters wanting to take part.  Below is a little bit about the Hop.

"In the eyes of children, we find the joy of Christmas. In their hearts, we find its meaning."

As joyous as Christmas is for most families, for some, their holidays are filled with worry, medical treatments and tests, and pain -- for their child must be hospitalized or she or he needs long-term care rather than being home with their families.

For these kids, Santa doesn't slip down a chimney but rather, often comes in the guise of community volunteers who help make the season bright.

This is the second Christmas season that our own band of dedicated and loving paper crafters have come together to make Holiday banners for children who are too sick to be home for the holidays. Welcome to the Christmas Banners for Special Needs Kids blog hop!

I am especially pleased that this year, not only have our numbers of generous crafters swelled so our Hop is over three full days, but also, that we have partnered with another great cause and recipient of our banners!

By teaming up with Madison Womack's I FEEL THE LOVE PROJECT, the banners our crafters have handmade will be going to the hospitalized children at Children's Hospital Central California!

First, let me show you the banner I made for today's post. I'll be sending this to Madison and the children at CHCC who are benefiting from the I Feel the Love project in December:

For my banner I have used the adorable Toread Decoupage pack from Crafter's Companion.  The pennants I bought which I have stamped holly and snowflakes on.  I have added glitter to the little images and threaded with dark green ribbon.

Friday at the NEC

Good Morning Crafty Friends and Followers

As you all know I was at the NEC on Friday and I had a fabulous day.  I got to the NEC about 8.30 and met Mike and Ian from Kraftyhands.  I met a lot of my crafty friends, Ally (Ally's Inky Fingers), Sam (HobbyFun), Christine and Sue (Princess Pinflair), Anna Marie and Tim, all the guys at Crafter's Companions, I bumped into Sue and Linda from Jem's Designs, Sheenagh was with them and of course I had to go and say hello to Nigel and Leonie.

I spent all my money but I got everything on my list and some!!!  I also met the lovely Emma and all on the Kanban stand.  There were a lot more new exhibitors this year, including Chloe, Cricut to name but a few.

Here are a few photographs of what I bought!

Lavinia stamps x 5
10 Copic Sketch Pens
6 Pan Pastels and sponges.
The box holds some of the Crafter's Companions Storage for pens

Bottle tops with die and inserts
4 Adirondak Inks
2 Tubes of Pinflair
1 tub of book binder glue
Assortment of charms

Lavinia Card
Paint brush bag
Pearlescent paper from Anna Marie Designs which I use for printing my background on it is superb paper and a good weight too.

I left at 3.00 pm from Birmingham which for me to get home is a 2 hour journey well it took me 4 and a half hours.  The traffic was horrendous, I was bored out of my mind.  The traffic was bumper to bumper until I got off the motorway.  I was absolutely shattered by the time I got home.
Yesterday I had to tidy my craft room as it was a disaster area and I can't craft in mess so I had a good sort out and tidy up and put my new goodies away all ready for me to get some crafting done today.
