Parchment Birthday

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

Are you enjoying the Easter break?
Hubby and I are having a wonderful weekend.
The Easter bunny has been good to us this weekend too.

Today another parchment card, the pattern is one I have had in my stash for a while.
The butterfly was made with the Butterfly Groovi plate from Clarity Stamp

1. 7 x 7 cream square card which I have matted and layered brown embossed floral card.
2. The parchment topper is the pattern which I have embossed the back of the parchment, using the Pergamano half circle pricking tool went around the circle then cut out to create the scalloped edging.
3. I cut out yellow card using SB scalloped circle die and attached the parchment with brads.
4. I then used the Butterfly Groove plate to create the butterfly, adhered to card with Pergamano clue and added brown gems to the body.

Lyonica

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

I had a fabulous day on Saturday at the workshop and will show what I created later this week.
Yesterday Gill came and we made a start on a project.  We are hoping to finish this project off when Gill next comes for a crafting day.

Today is a tutorial using Delicious Doodles Lycaonia

I had a day of creating backgrounds with shaving foam inks and Ken Oliver's Colour Burst.
This background is the one made with colour burst, I cut it down to fit the 6 x 6 red scalloped square card.

I then took a paw print from Visible Image good luck stamp set and stamped across a strip of card with Versafine then distressed with the ink still being wet which gave it a muddy paw print look.

I then adhered both layers to the base card

I printed the image onto supersmooth card and coloured with Copic markers, cut down and distressed the edges with DI vintage photo.  I then matted and layered onto dark red card.

Attached the topper to the base card.

To finish off I added the sentiment.

A Groove Kind of Card

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

Another early blog post this morning as off to Kraftyhands for another workshop!

Many years ago I got into Parchment  and love the effect you can create with Parchment and the different tools available.

I was simply delighted when Barbara Gray brought out the Groovi Plate Make as you can create the most beautiful cards with the different plates and now she has brought out the baby one too!!!

So today's card is a monochrome parchment card! I do love the effect!

Why not check out Barbara's Clarity website to see the different plates available.
These are ideal for beginners too!

Step by Step

1. 7 x 7 white square card which I have matted and layered black card.
2. The next layer is white pearlescent card.
3. The parchment topper was created by using the following Groove plates
Square for the border, Round, Blooming Peonies and Sprig Pattern Groovi, I embossed the back with embossing tool. The pattern around the border I created with Groovi Border 1.
Around the edge I created the pattern using the grid and cut out with parchment scissors.
4. Once the topper was created I let it settle between each embossing to achieve the white work.
5. I used brads to attach the parchment to the black card with brads.
6. The butterfly I created using the Groovi Butterfly plate, adhered to the parchment with Pergamano Glue and added black pearls down the centre.
7. To finish off I added white and black flat back pearls.

Why Wordpress!

Good Morning Crafters

As you are aware I have set up another blog using Wordpress.

This blog will be for all my altered art/mixed media projects.

People have been asking me why?

One of the main reason which precipitated me to move was to separate my mixed media from my general crafting.

I have more control over what happens on my Wordpress blog than on Blogger.

As you are all aware they changed the way in which our followers could follow us and we lost a lot of them through this which was out of our control.

Yes, you can still follow me on Wordpress by signing up for an email, which is just the same as being notified from Facebook when I blog on Blogger.

I really wanted a more professional look to my blog which was quite simple in it's design and I love the layout of my new blog.

I would love to know what your thoughts are, please share.

Here is the link to my new blog!

Enjoy your day and I will be back again tomorrow!

Explore

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

Happy Wednesday to you all!

Off to the dentist this morning, to check everything is okay from my last treatment.
Fingers crossed no added cost either.

As you all know I was very luck to get to visit Viva Decor in February and work with their new and exciting products.

Today's card has been created using some of my favourite products.
Personal Impressions website carries these products.
Check out the stockist locator for a stockist near to you!

Step by Step

1. A5 landscape white card
2. First layer I have created by using Rusty Paper and Patina together to create a rustic background. This is something I will be doing a lot off as it will be fabulous for not only male cards but also steampunk!
3. The aeroplane has been stamped onto white card with 3-D stamp paint onto white card. I then cut this down and distressed with Paper-Soft colour walnut, I stamped Explore with Memento and adhered to card base with foam pads for dimension.
4. To finish off I stamped the tag from the Adventure stamp set with 3-D stamp paint, once dry I distressed with DI vintage photo and then pierced a hole in the top, threaded string through then adhered to card with Pinflair.
5. To finish off I wrote "Happy Birthday" with black pen.

Some News...

Good Afternoon Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

I hope you are all well and enjoying your Friday.

I woke up to snow this morning and below is a photograph of the view I had when I opened the blind in my craft room.

The snow has nearly all gone now as it has started to rain!

Now onto some news I wish to share with you.

As you all know I have spent quite a lot of time away from home since January 29th and been very lucky working at the trade show in Frankfurt, then spent a week at Viva Decor in Bad Saltzuflen in Germany learning all about their products and recording video's for the YouTube channel in English along with 2 other colleagues from Personal Impressions.  Then it was a quick turnaround and straight onto the Stitches show in Birmingham.

Having this much time away from home gave me time to think about my own crafting journey and where I wish to travel this coming year.

My blog for me has always been a crafting diary and just grown over the past 5 years to what it is today. As bloggers yourselves you know how long it takes to create and write up a blog post.  This is taking my time away from my crafting and learning new techniques and playing with new products too!

So to this end I have decided to cut back on blogging everyday.  I have blogged everyday now for at least 3 years if not more and I plan from next week to blog 3 times a week on this blog. I have always been at least 2 weeks ahead with scheduling my blog posts so for the next couple of weeks these will go live on Monday Wednesday and Saturday.

I will then start to do tutorials on my blog not only for seasoned crafters but new crafters too.

This week while I have been off I haven't crafted at all and I needed this I think, as it has now given me time to recharge my batteries and decide on what way I want to go with my crafting and therefore my blog.  I will still be around and commenting on your own blogs and supporting you as you have supported me.

I only realised this week whilst doing some housekeeping on my blog that I have a blog on Wordpress and from next week all my mixed media, altered art and journalling will be posted to this blog along with my YouTube videos unless I do a card making video.

If you wish to visit my other blog then please click on the link

It is still in its early stages as I get to grips with developing and getting the format to how I want it but it all takes time.

I hope that you will all continue to follow me on the next stage of my crafting journey and thank you all so very much for your visits and comment too.

Paris

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

As you know I went for a visit to the Viva Decor offices last month.

I was very lucky to get to work with their products and made YouTube video's for them in English.
They should be out within the next couple of weeks.
Why not hop on over to the Personal Impressions blog today as I have posted about my visit.

Today's card is created using their products.

Step by Step

1. A5 white landscape card turned on its side to create a tent card.
2. First layer is Navy blue card.
3. Onto white card I used Relief paper paste through the Paris stencil.
4. Once this was dry I then distressed with Paper Soft-Colour walnut brown.
5. I then sanded back the stencil and placed the stencil over and distressed with Paper Soft-Colour in Indigo.
6. The tag was stamped with 3D stamp paint which gives texture and dimension in brown and distressed with the Indigo.  I then added this to the topper with a brad.

Finnabair's Workshop

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

On Sunday Kath and I went to Daisy Jewels and Crafts in Coventry for a workshop with Finnabair.
Anna is an amazing artist and we have been an admirer for a long time so when we had the opportunity to attend one of her workshops we booked and it was brilliant.

We had a lot of fun and caught up with a few of my crafting friends.

We we all given an oblong canvas with Prima embellishments, lace, buttons, canvas sheet, flowers.
We each had to bring a photograph to use on the canvas, we created texture and dimension, painted with white gesso, added drips by using a glue gun then spritzed with mica sprays.

This is my completed canvas, what do you think?

At the end of the class I had my photograph taken with Anna!

Thank you Anna for a wonderful day!

Many thanks for visiting today!
