Artful Days 2nd Project

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

Today I am sharing with you my second project using Artful Days September Goodie Box.

This month the theme is "with wings"

I have made a box card to showcase just some of the products in this box.

I first created the box using pearlescent card and made a card wrap which folds over the box.

I used this beautiful paper which is from Craft Emotions A5 Botanical papers.

I cut down a piece of the cream hammered card to fit inside the box. I distressed with DI bundle sage and used a couple of stencils from my stash and stencilled through them with DI forest moss.
I then cut out the fence using one of my die and adhered to the outside of the box.
I then decorated the background with the birds, butterfly and roses. The butterfly trail I used the gold micro beads.

To finish off the front of the box card I added the metal butterfly charm and 4 pearl flat back gems.

Don't forget to visit Artful Days to check out next months goodie box.

Istanbul Turkey 2016

Good Morning Crafty Friends, Followers and Visitors

An early post this morning as off to see my parents.

As you know Rick and I went to Turkey for our holiday this year.  The first couple of days we spent in Istanbul which has been on my husbands bucket list for a while.

I was last there in 1988 and it sure has changed and developed for the better!

We took this photograph from the Topkapi Palace which looks across the Bosphorus.

This is the Harem in the Palace. The architecture and fabulous mosaics are stunning!

The work that had gone into decorating the palace is awesome. I particularly love these stained glass windows.

This is Aya Sophie, it is under restoration and again the inside is magnificent.

An inside view from Aya Sophia, you can see in the middle Mary with baby Jesus.

Sultan Ahmet mosque.

This shows the inside mosaics of the mosque. AMAZING!

Information below regarding this amazing Obelisk.

This is a photo of hubby and I on our last day in Istanbul.

Finally as you all know I love my lace and the above 2 photographs are what I brought back with me.

We did visit the Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar too but for some reason the photographs haven't turned out at all. So disappointed!

I hope that you have enjoyed just a small selection of photographs from our time in Istanbul.
The hotel, food and most of all people of Istanbul were so friendly which is why we love holidaying there!

If you get the opportunity to visit this amazing city please do, you will not be disappointed.

That's it for now.
